A native of Brazil, Adriano Fagundes moved from Rio de Janeiro to New York City in 1990 to study photography at the School of Visual Arts. While attending SVA, he worked as a freelance assistant to several photographers in New York, learning firsthand how to apply different techniques to varied styles of photography. For three years, beginning in 1995, Adriano worked as the first assistant to photographer Arthur Elgort. This long apprenticeship reaffirmed Adriano's philosophy that photography is surprisingly simple: If a photographer is open, prepared, and relaxed the right photographs will come to him. In 1998, Adriano began his career as a professional photographer. His images have been featured in a range of magazines including Marie Claire, InStyle, French Max, British Cosmopolitan, Self, Modern Bride, People, German Glamour, Vital, More, Clam, Essence, Estilo, Redbook, Trace, YM, Fitness, and Condé Nast Traveler. His Corporate clients include Mercedes Benz, AMC, Sephora, Eddie Bauer, Hennessy, American Express, Jergen's, Company 81, Domino Records, Velour Records, CTI Records, and Wellman's. Adriano loves what he does. He loves to travel, play music, and capture the power and poetry of ordinary life on film. To each of these activities he brings the same passion, openness, and honesty. Adriano lives, plays, and works in New York City. |
